Adjunct Lecturer

Jaye Buchbinder

Jaye started out teaching in design, while in between undergrad and coterm years at Stanford (Sustainable Engineering/MS&E)- through the Harvard in Asia fellowship program, traveling around Asia, specializing in teaching design thinking. She then joined Emeco a few years after graduating and began helping with critiques at design schools and competitions, such as SCAD and Core 77 Awards. Two years ago, Jaye guest lectured within the MIT Design program, and returned regularly to critique student projects in the design course called: The 150 Year Old Chair. She then joined us last year as an adjunct lecturer in ME263: The Chair. Her niche knowledge about chair production makes her well suited for a Chair course and the PRL is the perfect place to teach it!
