Jonathan Edelman

Dr. Jonathan Antonio Edelman is a Lecturer at Stanford University’s Product Realization Lab, where he teaches ME 102 Foundations of Product Realization and ME 217 Engineering Design Analytics: Design for Product Realization. He is the founder and director of the Center for Advanced Design Studies, a research and consulting firm which focuses on translational research that explores and communicates cutting edge innovation processes in a wide spectrum of creative and scientific domains.  

Previously, Dr. Edelman served as Adjunct Professor for Digital Health Design at the Digital Health Center at the Hasso Plattner Institute for Digital Engineering in Potsdam Germany, where Dr. Edelman founded and headed the Digital Health Design Lab, a facility devoted to developing and testing Human-Centered design interventions for Digital Health.  

Dr. Edelman served as Adjunct Professor and Head of Programme for Global Innovation Design at the Royal College of Art, London. Dr. Edelman advises startups and enterprise companies in Silicon Valley and around the world for new product development and digital transformation.  

Dr. Edelman holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering as well as Master of Fine Arts, both from Stanford University, and a BA in Mathematics and Philosophy from St. John's College in Annapolis, Maryland.
