Sitting Pretty

A dozen students each year are selected each spring to turn their fresh take on this ubiquitous piece of furniture into reality. The Chair, a theory-design-fabrication class attracts student artists, designers, inventors, and engineers. In the Product Realization Lab, the students spend 10 weeks creating a seat of with highest aesthetics, ergonomics, structure, materials, purpose and meaning possible.
