Lewis wins Professor James L. Adams Creativity Award

This award is given annually to a graduating student who has done inspirational, creative work in the Stanford Product Realization Laboratory. Nominations and selection are made by the community of currently appointed PRL CAs.

Jim was a prolific thinker and writer, whose teaching combined scholarship in creativity, engineering prowess, and aesthetic sensitivity; enlightening thousands of students to both technical and human issues in engineering design. His leadership transformed our student shops into today’s world-class PRL. In fact, without Jim Adams there would be no PRL.

This 1st annual Award goes to Bennett Lewis, a BSBME candidate who has exhibited extraordinary design creativity, build quality, and documentation in his ME103, 104, 263, 318 and, 325 projects. His work serves as an inspiration to others. Like Jim, Bennett combines a passion for engineering analysis (especially heat transfer) with an impressive ability to create beautifully made hardware, and a strong aesthetic sensibility.

Bennett, we your 2021-2022 PRL CAs salute you.
