The John McMordie Memorial Spirit Award is given annually to a graduating Product Realization Lab Course Assistant who epitomizes John’s memory. John inspired Product Realization Lab culture. He combined talent with humility. He led with deep dedication to the lab. He celebrated every student.
This year the McMordie award goes to Frank Lou. Frank is the consummate course assistant. He is always the first to volunteer and willing to do any task. Frank’s knowledge spans many subjects and he’s eager to teach and share. He is never in a bad mood and lifts the spirit of any group. He’s been correctly called “the Man”. It is entirely fitting and deserving that Frank Lou be awarded the 2020-2021 John McMordie Spirit Award.
The John McMordie Memorial Spirit Award includes a monetary award and acknowledgement on a permanent plaque in the Product Realization Lab.
